Jessica Mishali has over a decade of experience fighting for the rights of criminal defendants. She also represents people who are going through a divorce or custody battle, and victims injured in accidents. She understands the stress that you may be facing, and she can help you navigate the legal process with dignity and confidence. Jessica listens carefully to the details of each client’s situation and develops a strategy tailored to their specific needs. She is familiar with the nuances of the litigation process and has brought many cases to trial. One of her notable accomplishments consists of winning multiple awards from the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for three consecutive Not Guilty Verdicts. In many circumstances, moreover, Jessica has achieved a favorable result for a client by using skillful negotiation tactics, and legal motions.
Jessica can assist people who are facing charges of some of the most serious felonies under Florida law, such as murder, rape (sexual battery), drug trafficking, robbery, and burglary. In the area of family law, she can assist a spouse who is going through a contested divorce with protecting their property interests and their relationship with their children. If you have suffered serious injuries in an accident, she can fight for all of the compensation that you need.
Jessica received her J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where she graduated cum laude. Previously, she received her B.A. from Florida International University. Jessica was honored for her outstanding performance in many law school classes, including Criminal Law, and she participated in the Law Review as a Research Editor. She also wrote an essay on the juvenile death penalty in the Law Review, which received the distinction of being the only work by a law student in that issue. Jessica’s long-standing commitment to fighting for justice led her to volunteer for the Suffolk County American Civil Liberties Union as well.
Jessica understands that each person’s situation is complex, and people who are facing criminal charges also may be dealing with serious adversity in other areas of life. She learned valuable lessons from her experience at the Immigration Law Center in North Miami Beach, where she worked after law school. She assisted clients there with matters related to immigration and family law, giving her insights into these issues that still guide her in her practice. She then became an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County, fulfilling a long-standing aspiration. She defended the indigent for about nine years before moving into private practice in 2016. She then joined The Law Office of Jessica Mishali, P.A., where she provides compassionate, creative, and aggressive representation to each of her clients. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida, as well as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Jessica assists people in Boca Raton, Miami and Broward Counties, as well as elsewhere in South Florida.
When she is not fighting for her clients at the negotiation table or in the courtroom, Jessica enjoys traveling around the world. Experiences studying abroad in the Czech Republic and Israel have broadened her perspective. She also gains satisfaction from volunteer work to help disadvantaged members of her community.
